2019–2020 Museum Ambassadors Program (MAP) Application Form

To be eligible for the Museum Ambassadors Program (MAP) for the 2019–2020 academic year, please submit this application form by 11:59 p.m. EST on Thursday, September 19, 2019. All applicants will be notified about final decisions by mid-late September. The first MAP session will be held in late September or early October. If you have questions, please contact Curator of Education Jason Vrooman via email.

Please note: Due to the time commitment of this program, students must have completed at least one semester at Middlebury in order to apply for MAP. We regret that First Years in their first semester are not eligible and encourage them to apply next year.

Please be sure that the email address you provide is valid and correct as this is how we will contact you to confirm receipt of your application. We encourage you to prepare all responses in advance as there is no opportunity to save an application in process. Please review your entries carefully before submitting the form.

NOTE: Due to the Museum’s strict insurance policies, all offers of employment are contingent upon a candidate’s successful completion of a criminal background check conducted by an independent agency.

Additional Information
Please offer a brief response to each of the following questions. Please answer each question in roughly 75–250 words; the content counts more than the length of your answers.
Availability
Museum Ambassadors are required to attend a mandatory MAP training session each week (Tuesday from 4:30-6:00 p.m.) and expected to complete an additional 1-2 hours of research or work each week. Museum Ambassadors are also expected to lead 2-4 public tours of the Museum each semester. All of this time is paid at a rate of $11.10 per hour. Attendance at all 4 J-Term MAP training sessions is required in order to help lead tours for school children in the Spring semester. Note: More than 2 unexcused absences from the MAP training program per semester may result in a Museum Ambassador being asked to step down from the program, with the ability to reapply for the subsequent academic year. Based on the above, think about this question seriously before answering: Would you be able to commit at least 2.5 hours per week to MAP?
