Location: Mahaney Center for the Arts, Room 125

Barbara Villet ’52 and Ann Villet ’87

Grey Villet, Barbara’s late husband and Ann’s father, was a photojournalist for LIFE and other major magazines. Among his many projects, Grey documented the marriage of Mildred and Richard Loving, the interracial couple who won a 1968 Supreme Court decision ending miscegenation laws in 16 states. His photographs, on display at the Museum, inspired a recent
HBO documentary and the 2016 feature film Loving. They are also included in a recently published book, Loving: An Intimate Portrait, with text by Barbara and Design by Ann. Cosponsored by the Middlebury College Museum of Art and the Friends of the Art Museum.
