50/FIFTY: 50 Years of Collecting Art for Middlebury

Opening Reception
Time: 5:30pm
Location: Middlebury College Museum of Art

Richard Saunders, Museum Director

Over the past fifty years the art collection at Middlebury has grown to nearly 6,000 objects with many of these works having come as gifts and bequests from alumni and friends, purchases made possible by eleven endowments, or contributions by members of the Friends of the Art Museum through their annual membership dues. Museum Director Richard Saunders will provide a curatorial overview of this celebratory retrospective exhibit, which features fifty acquisitions—one from each year back to 1968—that chronicle the growth and evolution of Middlebury’s collection.
