Roo Weed ’18.5 is a senior Physics major. As Robert F. Reiff Intern at the Middlebury College Museum of Art, she has designed and created a digital interface for displaying the museum’s collection of Greek and Roman coins in the Antiquities Gallery. 50/FIFTY: 50 Years of Collecting Art for Middlebury

Over the past fifty years the art collection at Middlebury has grown to nearly 6,000 objects with many of these works having come as gifts and bequests from alumni and friends, purchases made possible by eleven endowments, or contributions by members of the Friends of the Art Museum through their annual membership dues. Museum Director Richard Saunders will provide a curatorial overview of this celebratory retrospective exhibit, which features fifty acquisitions—one from each year back to 1968—that chronicle the growth and evolution of Middlebury’s collection.
