Visual AIDS’ Day With(out) Art Video Series

The annual Visual AIDS’ Day With(out) Art Video Series offers seven video works, each seven minutes long, that highlight the ongoing HIV/AIDS crisis. This year’s project, Alternate Endings, Radical Beginnings, places particular emphasis on those marginalized within broader Black communities nationwide, including queer and trans populations. Together, the videos provide a platform centering voices deeply impacted by the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic. Video presentation followed by open discussion. Lunch provided. Free. Sponsored by the Middlebury College Museum of Art, the Student Friends of the Art Museum, and Chellis House. Please note that this program includes some explicit language and provocative imagery.

Jim Blair, Photographer

In 1970 Jim Blair photographed the relatively “new” issue of ecological crisis for National Geographic magazine. He has continued to cover the topic all over the planet. Using photographs from many stories, he offers a vivid demonstration of “how we have made some progress but are always playing catch up.” Sponsored by the Middlebury College Museum of Art and the Friends of the Art Museum. FREE.
