Wentao Zhai ’17, a senior major in Classics, will discuss the museum’s Roman child sarcophagus, the topic of his independent research project in Art History. He will address the depiction of the Greek myth of Phaedra and Hippolytus on this Roman funerary object as a means of exploring the relationship between Classical Antiquity’s two major cultures. Enjoy further conversation over a light lunch in the lobby. Sponsored by the Middlebury College Museum of Art and the Committee on the Arts. Lunch is provided. $5 donation suggested; free to College ID cardholders.
