Events and Programs

Each year the Museum plans various events and public programs. These programs support the Museum’s mission to exhibit its collections, to enrich the educational impact of its collections, to encourage an appreciation and understanding of the diversity of world cultures, and to promote an understanding of the role of art in society.

The Museum regularly works with faculty in art history, studio art, language and literature, religion, history, American civilization, geography, and political science, as well as scholars outside Middlebury College, to provide public programs that focus on works of art in the collection or on loan in traveling exhibitions. These programs are designed to stimulate the general academic and public use of the College’s art collection and to enhance the educational effect of temporary and long-term loan exhibits.

Middlebury students enjoy art, fondue, and mascarade at the Beaux Arts Ball hosted by the Inter House Council.
